Follow live updates as Tottenham Hotspur take on Sheffield United in the Premier League today.

Spurs will look to close the gap on the Champions League qualification places on Saturday afternoon but won't have everything their own way against a dogged and determined Blades side who have punched far beyond their weight so far this season. They'll have Son Heung-min available, however, after his red card from the Everton game last weekend was overturned. Jan Vertonghen and Erik Lamela remain sidelined with hamstring injuries while Chris Wilder has a number of absentees himself.

We’ll have all the latest coverage for you throughout the afternoon:

SUBS

Tottenham 1 - 1 Sheffield United

87 mins: Pochettino makes another change with Serge Aurier going off and Lucas Moura coming on. It's an attacking change that should make use of the added time we're likely to get.

Winks puts a ball into the box as Kane makes a run. Kane jumps to head the ball but it goes over his head.

Mousset is taken off and Robinson comes on.

Tottenham 1 - 1 Sheffield United

84 mins: Great challenge from Basham. Lo Celso puts the ball into the box and Son runs onto it. Basham slides in and wins the ball before taking Son down and ending the attack.

Tottenham 1 - 1 Sheffield United

81 mins: Into the last 10 minutes and Sheffield United survive a VAR check this time. It is no more than they deserve as they've been the better side today. Can they go on to clinch a winner?

GOAL!

Tottenham 1 - 1 Sheffield United - Baldock

78 mins: GOAL! McGoldrick holds the ball up and gets out of a challenge from Lo Celso. He passes the ball out to Baldock who crosses it into the box. Eric Dier looks to get a touch on the ball that deflects the cross into the far corner.

75 mins: Here's a look at the offside for the disallowed goal. Understandably Sheffield United aren't happy with it.

SUBS

Tottenham 1 - 0 Sheffield United

72 mins: Tottenham make a change as Dele Alli goes off for Juan Foyth. Pochettino is looking to hold onto this lead.

Tottenham 1 - 0 Sheffield United

69 mins: Kane puts a long ball into the box as Son sprints into the area. Basham tracks him and gets to the ball first clearing it over his own head.

Tottenham 1 - 0 Sheffield United

66 mins: I quite like VAR when it is used well but that decision is a joke. There was no advantage gained by Lundstram and it wasn't a clear and obvious error. Sheffield United have played well enough not to be behind and they'll have to pick themselves up and go again.

Tottenham 1 - 0 Sheffield United

63 mins: VAR comes to its decision. Lundstram is judged offside by millimetres as he received the ball before putting the initial cross into the box. It's an extremely harsh call and one that Sheffield United don't deserve.

But the goal is taken away from them.

GOAL!

Tottenham 1 - 1 Sheffield United - McGoldrick

60 mins: GOAL! The ball comes in to the box from the right but Sanchez gets it out. The Blades then work it out to Stevens on the left and he slots a low cross into the far post and McGoldrick sneaks in behind Dier and taps it in for the equaliser.

VAR is having a check though.

GOAL!

Tottenham 1 - 0 Sheffield United - Son

58 mins: GOAL! Out of nothing Tottenham have the lead.

Dele Alli plays the ball into the box for Harry Kane but O'Connell wins the ball. In the act of taking it away from Kane he diverts it to Son who shoots. A slight deflection off Basham puts the ball past Henderson and Spurs lead!

Tottenham 0 - 0 Sheffield United

57 mins: Davinson Sanchez saves Eric Dier again. A long ball comes to Dier who heads it to Mousset. Mousset only needs to beat Sanchez and he's in on goal but Sanchez covers him and makes the tackle to end the attack.

Tottenham 0 - 0 Sheffield United

54 mins: Chance! Mousset gets in behind Eric Dier as Fleck makes a run into the box. Mousset goes it alone and turns past Sanchez before letting fly. He's off balance and he pulls his shot wide of goal.

Tottenham 0 - 0 Sheffield United

51 mins: Lo Celso passes the ball up to Dele Alli who gives it to Son. Son switches the ball onto his left foot and lets loose a curling shot but it doesn't do enough and the ball goes wide.

Tottenham 0 - 0 Sheffield United

48 mins: Norwood puts a cross into the box and Aurier blocks off McGoldrick who is judged offside anyway.

Spurs win a throw in in Sheffield's half but the play the ball back to the defence and Eric Dier gives it away.

Tottenham 0 - 0 Sheffield United

Second half: Harry Winks comes on for Spurs at half time. He's on for Ndombele. The Blades get the second half underway. Spurs will want to start this second half better than they started the first.

Burnley have a two goal lead over West Ham with goals from Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood.

Newcastle and Bournemouth are level at 1-1. Harry Wilson scoring for the visitors before DeAndre Yedlin equalised for Newcastle.

Everton also took the lead over Southampton in just the fourth minute as Tom Davies opened the scoring.

Here are the scores for the other 3pm kick offs in the Premier League:

Burnley 2-0 West Ham

Newcastle 1-1 Bournemouth

Southampton 0-1 Everton

HALF TIME

Tottenham 0 - 0 Sheffield United

45+1 mins: The whistle for half time goes. There's not been a goal yet to break the deadlock and that's the only way Sheffield United have let themselves down. They started the game in such a quick tempo that Spurs were shocked for at least 20 minutes.

Lundstram hit the post to come close but a change in formation from Pochettino saw Tottenham secure their defence in the last 10 minutes of the half.

Tottenham 0 - 0 Sheffield United

45 mins: The rain is pouring in London, Chris Wilder is drenched in his technical area. Sheffield United have played a belting first 45 minutes but Tottenham have gotten themselves into the game as time has gone on.

There's one added minute to play.
