Slovenia U21 2-2 England U21: Aidy Boothroyd’s side squander two-goal lead in Maribor
England Under-21s conceded a stoppage-time equaliser as Aidy Boothroyd's side squandered a two-goal lead against Slovenia in a friendly in Maribor.
Eddie Nketiah's first-half penalty and debutant Sam Surridge's 70th-minute strike had put England in control.
However, Dejan Petrovic punished goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale's misplaced pass eight minutes from time.
A slight deflection then caught out Ramsdale as Janez Pisek converted a 94th-minute free-kick for the hosts.
Boothroyd's side return to Euro Under-21 qualifying action against Austria in Milton Keynes on Tuesday (19:45 BST).
They were knocked out of this summer's European Championship at the group stage.
