Frank Lampard speaks to the match officials after Derby's 2-2 draw at Birmingham
Derby manager Frank Lampard has been charged with improper conduct by the FA following his behaviour during his side's 2-2 draw with Birmingham on Friday.
Lampard approached referee Simon Hooper after the full-time whistle at St Andrew's having watched his side drop points in their pursuit of a Championship play-off place.
"It is alleged Lampard's language and/or behaviour on the field of play after the conclusion of the fixture amounts to improper conduct," said an FA statement released on Wednesday.
Lampard, whose side moved back into the top six with a win over QPR on Easter Monday, has until next Monday to respond to the charge.
It is the second time Lampard has faced an FA charge this season. He was reprimanded in September having been sent off during Derby's defeat to Rotherham.
On that occasion the former Chelsea midfielder accepted the charge and was fined £2,000.
Derby return to action against fellow play-off hopefuls Bristol City on Saturday.
